Do you charge fees?

Yes. As a professional in my field of travel I charge fees to my clients for using my services. Just as you might use an accountant to assist you with filing your taxes or a lawyer for legal advice, I help my clients plan and design the vacation of their dreams. My fees do differ depending on the type of travel booked, please don’t hesitate to schedule a free discovery call to see if we’re a good fit.

Why do you charge an “Initial Travel Planning Fee”?

As you can imagine, there is a lot of work and effort that goes into every stage of planning a trip for a client, even just an initial quote. I’ll be very honest and say that some people who have contacted me in the past, took my recommendations in an initial quote and booked it themselves online to get around paying my fees, wasting precious time I could be spending creating amazing vacations for other clients. I would like to work with clients who value my time, especially my experience and expertise. As a travel advisor when I make a recommendation to my clients, I’ve made personal investments to either visit the destination myself and/or have a personal connection with the hotelier, cruise line, DMC, tour operator, etc. As mentioned, my fees do differ depending on the type of trip you’re looking into as each vacation can be quite unique, please don’t hesitate to schedule a free travel planning call to see if we’re a good fit.

What is your lead time for planning vacations for clients?

Depending on your vacation, the more time we have to plan your holiday the better, especially if you’re looking into private villa rentals, safaris, custom land itineraries and/or cruises (for these requests, I highly suggest starting to work with me at least one year prior to departure). I do take some “last minute” requests within reason, please setup a consultation with me where we can discuss your vacation further and see if your travel request is possible. Typically, once I receive payment of your Initial Travel Planning Fee, it takes between one and three business days for me to create the first draft of your travel itinerary and quotation, however you will be advised during our initial call of my current travel planning timeline.

I’m based in the UK, can you still help me plan my trip?

Yes I can. I currently work with clients who reside in Canada, the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom. If you reside outside of these areas, please contact me to see if we can work together.

I have a few travel preferences (food allergies, hotels I prefer to stay at as I’m “Elite” status, etc), can you accommodate these requests?

Of course! Most of my clients have travel preferences which is why my consultation form is so extensive. I want to be sure that I’m planning the perfect holiday for you (and/or your family). If there is anything further that you would like to let me know that I didn’t ask in my form, feel free to add it in the comments box on the form. The more information you provide me, the better I can recommend ways to make your vacation special.

I booked a cruise with the cruise line directly last month, I’d like to work with you however. Can I transfer my cruise to you?

If you booked your cruise with the cruise line directly within the last 30 days, you can typically transfer your cruise over to me, for me to manage and help assist you with your upcoming cruise vacation. There are some instances where cruises can’t be moved or transferred, so please reach out to me and we can see what is possible.

Can you book me just a domestic flight here in Canada?

While I appreciate you wanting to work with me for just your domestic flight, I unfortunately do not book flights only. However, if you are looking for more than just your flights (hotels, day tours, transfers, travel insurance, etc) please reach out and I’ll see if we’re a good fit.

Do you work with groups to plan vacations?

I do work with my clients on certain group vacation requests. If you’re arranging a multi-generational family vacation to a villa in Tuscany, to a corporate incentive group cruise with 150 passengers, I’d be happy to arrange a consultation call to see if I’d be a good fit for your group travel request. I unfortunately do not work with larger destination wedding groups over 20 guests.

What is your “Cancellation Fee” if I need to cancel or postpone my vacation?

Depending on your vacation and the cancellation penalties from the various travel suppliers used to book your vacation, you will be notified at time of quotation what the cancellation or change fees will be.

Are your travel planning fees refundable if I decide not to travel right now?

Unfortunately not. As mentioned before, there is a lot of time and effort that goes into planning a trip for a client. If you decide not to go forward with a vacation, the travel planning fees paid are non-refundable. You go by the name “Wanderlust Journey”, why am I being contacted through you at Vision Travel?

I started Wanderlust Journey as my personal brand and as a travel blog a few years ago as a tool to provide my clients with free resources to helping them elevate their trips with my travel guides and through my personal recommendations. This evolved to what it is today, a travel blog, YouTube channel and other social media channels. I am an “Independent Travel Advisor” working under Vision Travel (a Direct Travel Company) as my host travel agency. Once we have our travel consultation call and you would like to move forward with me as your travel advisor, we will be corresponding through my Vision Travel email address and phone number.
